Unfiltered Audio's "lo-fi-af" is now available on iOS as a Standalone app or AUv3 plugin. This tool takes your audio on a journey through various historical artifacts and noise, ranging from tape warbles and vinyl sounds to MP3 artifacts and cell phone chatter. Its diverse sections and adaptable algorithms can transport your sound back in time or give it a contemporary twist through complex processing.
The initial section offers a convolution reverb with preloaded impulse responses from damaged microphones, toy speakers, cell phones, and more, allowing you to immerse your audio in unique spaces. Following that, the Spectral section dissects your audio into numerous frequencies before reconstructing it in an innovative manner, enabling you to recreate the sound of pirated MP3s or perform precise pitch shifts.
The digital section introduces various potential hazards, such as a skipping CD effect and a multifunction bitcrusher. Lastly, the rich analog section provides the desired vibe by incorporating a maximizer, tape saturator, noise generator, analog-style filter, pitch warbler, and radio demodulator, offering an array of nostalgic elements for your sound.
Moreover, lo-fi-af allows for complete customization with the ability to rearrange the Convolution, Spectral, Digital, and Analog sections in any order. Numerous presets are available to kickstart your sound manipulation journey.
As an AUv3 plugin, "lo-fi-af" has been rigorously tested and proven compatible with popular platforms such as Garageband, AUM, Cubasis, Beatmaker, Nanostudio, apeMatrix, Loopy Pro, among others. Its intuitive interface and responsive design make it effortless to use on tablets and smartphones.
(Note for Drambo users: Automatic Plugin Delay Compensation is not currently supported in Drambo for managing plugins with latency. Consequently, tracks featuring lo-fi-af may not align correctly with other tracks. An upcoming patch for Drambo is expected to introduce this functionality.)
